The Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers

This branch covers the five valleys for which Stroud is well known, the site of innumerable cloth mills which once processed the famous Cotswold wool. Just north of the town is the village of Painswick and the church of St Mary (pictured). As well as the churchyard which it is said has 99 yew trees the tower houses a twelve to rival Cirencester in age and which has been the scene of many long length peals. Stroud branch is almost central within the Association and consequently borders on many other branches: Gloucester, Cirencester, Chippenham and Wotton-under-Edge.
