The Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers

Swindon branch is located in the south east of the Association, roughly bounded in the south by the M4 and both the Bath and Wells Association and the Salisbury Diocesan Guilds. The north boundary is formed by the River Thames, where it meets the Cirencester branch. West lies the Chippenham branch whereas east is the Oxford Diocesan Guild. The branch also maintains a close relationship with Shrivenham tower: they're related by postcode!

The old part of the town which gives the branch its name is on top of a hill, from where Christ Church (pictured) looks down on the new town. This was started by Brunel's establishment of the Great Western Railway works here in the 19th century. Modern Swindon does not show much of its origins although the railway village, the Great Western museum and St Mark's church bear witness.
